The Indian Tricolor should be a sign of our Collective Aspirations as a Society

Today, the Nation celebrates the day as the 77th year of Independence from Colonial Rule. Prior to that, the nation had been subject to more than a 500 years of subjugation. When our ancestors woke up every morning, they could not imagine what they could BE. They had to fear and follow what was expected of them and they just BECAME that.

Today a child can wake up and imagine whatever they want to BE. Yet, they are continuing to be told what they have to Become. The Power of freedom to exercise what is right for oneself is yet to be realized in every home and every citizen of our country. The government is running a campaign titled “har ghar tiranga” translating to every house to hoist the Indian tricolor. The Indian tricolor must represent our collective aspiration as a nation. Else, what use is the symbolic ritual of hoisting the flag?

In the national flag of India the top band is of Saffron colour, indicating the strength and courage of the country. The white middle band indicates peace and truth with Dharma Chakra. The last band is green in colour shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land.

  1. Strength and Courage comes from the convictions of the decisions we make as Individuals and as a Nation.
  2. Peace and Truth prevails when we exercise Dharma (the rightful actions irrespective of consequences using the above courage.
  3. Fertility, Growth & Auspiciousness emerges from our Creations that follow the above two principles.

Aspiration

Aspiration is the Power one exercises to be a force for the greater good.

We need to rewire our minds as a Nation to Imagining and Being Inspired to Being a Greater Force for Good. The objectives of Make in India and GDP and increasing Per Capita will automatically follow. It doesn’t matter where we are on this planet. We can still contribute to the growth of the society from wherever we are. The soil of India has always resonated with the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” meaning the World is one united family.

Nationalism is meaningless when the forces of the planet threaten to implode.

I wish every Indian anywhere on the planet a Happy Independence Day. Wishing you to wake up every morning alive to the idea of BEING than just BECOMING. Free from the Fear of being Oppressed or Bullied into Becoming what your heart does not desire. Finding a place in the New Glocal World Order to becoming a Force For Good. And contributing with efficacy to pulling the planet back from the precipice of destruction. Pursuing a Path of Excellence that Values Social, Political, Economic, Cultural and Emotional growth mutually inclusively in everything we do.

This is indeed the hour of an entire Civilization to lead the World to a more harmonious existence connected from People to People who care to Share, Collaborate and Succeed together. Jai Hind
